Curse of the fig tree
BIBLE SET OUT FOR FAMILY READING

GREAT MONDAY
Curse of the fig tree parable incriminating

On this day - the second after the grand entrance into Jerusalem - coming back to town in the morning, Jesus Christ, "he was hungry and saw a fig tree by the road, went up to her and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no will also continue to fruit from you again. And immediately the fig tree withered away. "(Jn 12, 24-33, 35-36, 46-48. Mt. 21, 18-19)

"The fig tree was a way of the Jewish people and its curse - a way of rejection of the Jews. The fig tree had leaves and look as if it had been paid off and the Jewish people had the appearance of piety, held religious ceremonies and traditions, but the fruit of the fig tree was not, and the fruit of faith and religiosity among the Jewish people was not. And both were cursing the fig tree dried up, the Jewish people rejected by God "[1] .

When the day came to the city, "Jesus went into the temple and taught, came to him the chief priests and elders of the people, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority? "

"Jesus answered them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I will tell you by what authority I do these things baptism of John, whence was it from heaven, or from men? And they reasoned among themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven, he will say unto us, Why then did you not believe him? But if we say, From men - afraid of the people, for they all hold John as a prophet.
And Jesus answering, said: I do not know. And He said to them: and I will not tell you by what authority I do these things. What do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first, and said, Son! go work today in my vineyard. But he answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. Came to the second, and said likewise. This answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Which of the two did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of your God, for John came to you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the harlots believed him: but ye, and having seen it, repented not afterward and believe him. " (Mt 21, 23-32)

Then Jesus said to them another parable about a landowner who planted a vineyard, and instructing it to tenants, and went into another country. "When the harvest time approached, he sent his servants to the tenants to get his fruit farmers took his servants, otherwise nailed, killed another, and stoned another. Finally, he sent his son to them, saying, reverence my son. But when the tenants saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir: come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance. And they took him, and cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. "
"Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard, what will he do to those tenants?" - Jesus asked.

But the Pharisees said to him, "The villains so he would deliver wicked men, and will give the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the fruits in their seasons. Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner? This is from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes' (cf. Ps. 117, 22-23)? Therefore say I unto you, that will be taken away from you the Kingdom of God and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof and the one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but he on whom it falls, in order to crush. "
"And heard his parables, the chief priests and the Pharisees understood that he spake of them and tried to grab him, but feared the people, because they took him for a prophet." (Mt 21, 34-35, 37-46)

The prophecy of the Lord of the destruction of Jerusalem and of the last times
"And he came out and walked from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? Verily I say unto you, will be left here one stone upon another, that will be destroyed. " "And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, asked him privately, Peter and James and John and Andrew, Tell us, when it will be, and what is the sign when all these things shall be accomplished?" (Matthew 24, 1 - 2. Mk. 13, 3-4)

"Jesus said to them, Take heed that no man deceive you: for many shall come in my name, and say," I am the Christ, 'and will deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. Look, do not be troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet: For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in various places, yet it - the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. " "But not a hair of your head will perish - In your patience possess ye your souls." "Who endures to the end shall be saved. When you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not - let the reader understand - then let those in Judea flee to the mountains. " "When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh then let those in Judea flee to the mountains, and who are in the midst of him, and who is in the vicinity, do not enter into it, because these are days of vengeance , all that is written may be fulfilled. " "Woe to pregnant women and feeding teats in those days. Pray that your flight be not in the winter. For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not since the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, will not be. " (Mt 24, 4-9. Lk. 21, 18-22. Mk. 13, 13-14, 17-19)

"And if those days were shortened, it is not no flesh should be saved: but for the elect those days will be.Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there - do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Behold, I have told you. So if anyone tells you, 'Behold, he is in the desert "- do not go out," Behold, he is in the secret chambers "- do not believe it For as the lightning comes from the east, and shineth even unto the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man . Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory, and shall send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to them.Parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: so, when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled heaven and earth will pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only, but, as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man. Then shall two be in the field: one will be taken and the other left two women grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left.Watch therefore, for you do not know which day your Lord doth come. " (Mt 24, 22-37, 40-42)
